Mapudungun es el idioma de los Mapuches, uno de los principales grupos nativos de Chile,recientes descubrimientos arqueológicos en la región han demostrado su existencia desde hace al menos 14.000 años.
Comencé a estudiar conscientemente su uso de patrones geométricos hace un par de años (aunque están imbuidos en la mente de todos los chilenos, ya que estos patrones están por todas partes desde las alfombras de las casas hasta los letreros del metro), luego de asistir a una conferencia sobre el genoma chileno que explicaba el alto porcentaje de ADN Mapuche en nuestra población.
Para mí, este trabajo se relaciona con el conocimiento perdido de los antiguos y la duda en la geometría como estructura de soporte del arte (modernismo).

Mapudungun is the language of the Mapuches one of the main native groups of Chile, recent archaeological discoveries in the region has proven their existence for at least 14.000 years..
I began to study consciously their use of geometrical patterns a couple of years ago, even though they are imbued in the mind of all chileans, since this patters are everywhere, from house carpets to the metro signs, after I went to a lecture about the Chilean genome that explained the high percentage of the Mapuche DNA in our population.
For me this work relates to the lost knowledge of the ancients and the doubt in geometry as the supporting structure of art (modernism).
Maybe to clarify a bit, most of the time I don't have an idea of what the final work is going to be about...I start with a formal problem I what to develop like the study of the 7 x 11 grid..and things start adding up ..... what happens if I make it bigger.?...etc...
For this work I didn't have the idea that it was going to be 16 watercolors only the materials and the grid..in the process, ideas start changing and I follow, sometimes they complete an art piece, others only sketches.
After the art piece is completed, ideas and concepts start to emerge from the work.
